New! Lifestyle Cancer Risk Test
With Over 100 Questions
This CANCER RISK TEST is one of the most extensive cancer risk tests available and is based on lifestyle. As of 2011, over 50% of U.S. citizens will get cancer and those numbers are increasing steadily. This is insane! Understand that pink ribbons don't reduce your cancer risk - changing to a healthier lifestyle does!
This collection of cancer risk factors is a result of 4 years of cancer study I did when I had six different types of cancer. I was finally able to get them down in the safe range and undiagnosable (remember we all have cancer cells in our body at all times) using only natural non-toxic methods - lifestyle choices. I would get rid of one or several and then they would come back. This happened over and over again until I finally found and eliminated enough harmful factors that cause cancer and added enough beneficial factors that strengthen the immune system and body. I can now live without any fear of cancer knowing that my body responds extremely well when I add enough healthy lifestyles choices and eliminate enough bad lifestyle choices.
Remember, only 2-3% of cancers can be attributed to genetics so the various factors listed in this Cancer Risk Test will be extremely helpful in reducing your risk and/or finding the cause of an existing cancer. It is important to note that even these genetic factors are influenced by your lifestyle choices.
How to Use This Cancer Risk Test to Reduce Your Risk of Cancer
Your greatest benefit from this Cancer Risk Test will be to read through the test and answer each question, checking to see how your answers match up with the 'lowest cancer risk answer' that follows each question. Then print out the test and ‘study’ the answers you get ‘wrong’ so as to proceed with lifestyle, diet and environmental changes you need to make in order to reduce your risk and/or help find causes of cancers you already have.
Because the extent of imbalance for each question and the total number of different imbalances you have is what determines your risk, there is no way to put a percentage value on each question and therefore your specific total risk value cannot be set.
Be sure to follow the links and resources within to get the full benefits of this Cancer Risk Test. The questions are divided into four main groups – Diet, Lifestyle, Environment and Health Factors. Let’s get started!
Diet Factors For Cancer Risk
Your diet directly affects the health of the body and many factors specifically affect cancer. Here are some of the stronger points for cancer prevention and healing.
- Do you consume carotene rich foods daily? Yes
One of the most important anti-cancer food groups, the carotene-rich foods provide the precursor for Vitamin A which assists the body in cancer prevention and healing in various ways. These and more information on vitamin A, carotenes and cancer can be found at www.Boost-Immune-System-Naturally.com/anti-cancer-diet.html Some of the foods containing carotenes are: dark leafy greens, deep orange fruits and other yellow or orange vegetables such as sweet potato, turnip greens, mustard greens, parsley, papaya, mango, spinach, cantaloupe, kale, carrots, broccoli, apricots, watermelon, cherries, peaches, tomato and butternut squash.
- Do you consume dairy products regularly? No
Dairy binds zinc so it cannot be used by the body. Vitamin A, which is critical for the immune system and cancer prevention, cannot be absorbed/used unless zinc is available. Also, studies show milk from modern dairy factory farms contain high levels of estrone sulfate which increases cancer risk, especially linked to increased risk of prostate, breast and testicular cancers.
- Do you consume foods that have nitrates/nitrites in them? No
Nitrates and nitrites combine with natural stomach acids and food substances to create nitrosamines, powerful cancer-causing agents. Nitrates and nitrites are most often found in cured meats such as hot dogs, lunch meats, smoked meats including fish, jerky, bacon, potted meat, plus more. Especially associated with liver, lung and pancreatic cancers. This chemical should be completely eliminated from your diet choices.
- Do you consume fresh raw fruits and vegetables daily? Yes
The enzymes that are in raw produce help remove the ‘covering’ from the cancer cells so the immune system can destroy them and raw produce also has a very cleansing effect on the body thus helping to remove toxins that increase cancer risk. Raw vegetables have the most powerful anti-cancer properties of all foods.
- Do you consume more than 10% of your diet from animal-based foods, including beef, pork, chicken, fish, eggs and dairy? No
Consuming animal-based foods an average of 4 times per week increases breast cancer rates by 70% compared to no animal products. According to ‘The China Project’ study – which is the largest study relating diet and disease – animal-based foods turn cancer cells on, plant-based foods turns cancer cells off. See how this graph reveals the relation between percentages of plant food to cancer and heart disease deaths in 12 different countries.
- Do you consume a large portion of your protein from beans, peas, lentils, raw nuts and seeds (seeds include whole, intact grains such as millet, quinoa, brown rice, flax, sunflower, etc.)? Yes
These sources of protein have the lowest cancer risk. The average person needs about 50 grams of protein daily, easily attainable from these plant protein sources.
- Do you consume cheese on a regular basis? No
Cheese has more saturated fat and more hormone-containing/promoting substances than any other food which increases the risk of hormonally related cancers.
- Do you consume food that has any amount of mold on it, or foods that are known to have a high incidence of mold, on a regular basis? No
Aflatoxin B1 comes from mold on food and increases your risk of liver cancer. Some common sources are peanuts, corn, wheat, nuts and milk.
- Do you consume carbohydrates/starches that have been heated with fats on a regular basis? No
Acrylamide is a chemical created when carbs/starches are heated with fats and increases the risk of various cancers including breast, renal cell, ovarian, uterine and endometrial cancers. One of the highest concentration foods is french fries, but it is also found in coffee.
- Do you consume sugar in any form daily? No
Sugar consumption of about 10 teaspoons (the average amount in a soda) reduces the effectiveness of the immune system by 1/3 for the entire day thus removing your biggest weapon to fight cancer. The healthiest sweetener to use is raw, unheated, unfiltered honey which has special health benefits. Reserve sugar-laden foods for special occasions.
- Do you drink alcohol of any type – even wine? No
Alcohol is toxic to the body, dehydrates the body and affects the hormones in the body. It has been found to increase the risk of several cancers even in small amounts.
- Do you consume caffeine? No
Studies have shown that caffeine damages DNA, which is the first step of a healthy cell becoming a cancer cell. Current studies are being conducted because of the suspected link between caffeine and leukemia caused from radiation damage.
- Do you have a selenium deficiency? No
This is one of the top minerals associated with reduced cancer risk. Selenium causes attacks on cancer cells in many different ways. This mineral has low availability in our food supply so supplementing is usually necessary. Too much or too little both affect the immune system negatively. Anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce the body’s supply of selenium. Food sources include: brazil nuts, shitake and button mushrooms, cod, snapper, halibut and salmon.
- Do you have an iodine deficiency? No
A deficiency of iodine is associated with increased cancer risk - especially breast cancer. Iodine helps regulate estrogen levels (estrogen promotes cancer cell growth) and is necessary for proper functioning of thyroid. The thyroid is vital to boost the immune system and enhances capacity of white blood cells to kill cancer cells. B6 and selenium is needed for proper absorption of iodine.
- Are you severely malnourished? No
You don’t have to be thin to be severely malnourished. Malnourishment can be a lack of macronutrients (fat, protein and carbohydrates) but especially the micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals). When the body is lacking many important dietary components, it is at an increased risk of getting cancer.
- Do you drink plenty of pure water (about half your weight in ounces)? Yes
Water helps your body to communicate the healing message, helps detox cancer-causing toxins and is vital for proper functioning of organs and immune system. Dehydration promotes cancer cell growth.
- Do you take enzymes with your cooked food? Yes
Raw food comes with its own supply of enzymes that help with digestion and benefits the body in other ways such as removing the covering from mutated, diseased and cancerous cells and bacteria so the immune system can destroy them. Cooking food kills all enzymes. Enzyme depletion encourages cancer cell growth.
- Do you consume NutraSweet? No
It is directly linked to brain tumors and causes many health problems. Also called aspartame.
- Do you consume artificial sweeteners? No
Excessive consumption of artificial sweeteners increase the risk of kidney and bladder cancers.
- Do you eat a variety of mushrooms? Yes
Mushrooms contain a variety of phytochemicals and are linked to decreased risk of cancer.
- Do you take a vitamin C supplement or ensure daily needs through diet? Yes
Low vitamin C intake increases the risk of all cancers. Some foods containing high amounts of vitamin C are: Guava, bell pepper, fresh herbs, dark leafy greens, cauliflower, kiwi, papaya, oranges, clementines, strawberries.
- Do you have a longterm deficiency of calcium and magnesium? No
Calcium and magnesium are the two most abundant minerals in the body and are not readily replenished in the average diet. This deficiency increases the risk of colon cancer.
- Do you have a vitamin A deficiency? No
Vitamin A is one of the most important nutrients associated with proper functioning of the immune system. A deficiency will increase your overall risk of cancer. See more info about Vitamin A and cancer here: http://www.boost-immune-system-naturally.com/anti-cancer-diet.html
- Do you consume approximately 90% of your diet from unprocessed plant food? Yes
A high fiber diet (all unprocessed plant food has fiber) and low animal fat intake are two of the most impactful diet factors for lowering your risk of cancer.
- Do you regularly consume very hot drinks? No
This increases your risk of esophageal cancer.
- Do you regularly consume barbecued, grilled, fried, seared or well done meat? No
This creates cancer-causing compounds called PAH’s (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) and HCA’s (heterocyclic amines) when fat from meat is cooked in this way.
Lifestyle Factors For Cancer Risk
- Do you have a high stress level that rarely eases up? No
High stress levels that are longterm, weaken the immune system and allow for disease such as cancer to take over. Stress can undermine the best of efforts of a healthy diet and lifestyle. If you have a constantly high stress level, it is time for change. Ask God what He wants you to be doing with your time and energy and say ‘NO’ to all else.
- Does your lifestyle include faith and prayer? Yes
Studies show those who pray and have a strong faith in God have a lower incidence of disease and get well more often than those who do not. It’s very powerful to know your purpose here on earth, to know who created you with that purpose and to know there is so much more to us than just our life here on earth.
- Do you take birth control pills/oral contraceptives? No
Your risk of cancer goes up significantly after five years of use.
- Do you have a history of sexually transmitted diseases? No
STD’s such as gonorrhea, Chlamydia, cervical dysplasia, herpes and HPV increase the risk of certain cancers such as cervical and prostate cancer.
- Do you have or have you in the past had multiple sex partners? No
This increases your risk of several cancers.
- Are you overweight? No
The cancer risk for many different types of cancer goes up in direct relation to the number of pounds a person is overweight. Portion control, nutrient density of your food choices and emotional eating are the biggest factors in weight gain. One of the most accurate and convincing books on eating healthy is Dr. Joel Furman’s “Eat to Live”.
- Do you smoke or are you exposed to second hand smoke on a regular basis? No
Smoking or being around smoke (whether cigarettes, marijuana, etc.) dramatically increases your risk of all cancers – the #1 killer. Second-hand smoke is the third leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. and in children.
- Do you test your pH often enough to know you maintain a 7-8 alkaline saliva pH most of the time? Yes
Cancer cells thrive in an acid pH and die in an alkaline pH. Your pH levels are affected by stress, hydration and all things you put in your body such as food, medications, alcohol, drinks, smoking, etc. See more information at
- Do you get regular sun on your bare skin? Yes
Sunshine increases killer T cells and produces vitamin D in your body – both of which are known to reduce cancer cells. Never burn and don’t use toxic sunscreens. For at least a few minutes daily (about 15 minutes), get sun exposure without sunscreen.
- Do you try to reduce a fever when you get one? No
Fevers are God’s way of healing the body by reducing microbes and pathogens. Replicating a fever in a sauna (steam or infrared) or hot bath reduces cancer cells because cancer cells can’t tolerate the heat as well as healthy cells. For this reason (along with many others), exercising until you are hot and sweaty is also beneficial for lowering your cancer risk. A fever of 103 and under is considered safe without intervention in normally healthy children and adults (excludes babies, elderly and those in a chronically weakened state who should seek medical advice and for anyone when accompanied by headache, rash, red spots, breathing difficulty or worsening condition).
- Do you feel trapped? No
A very high percentage of people with cancer have a feeling of being trapped or out of control of their life, which started before their cancer began. Sometimes we need to think smarter and find creative solutions, and sometimes we need to accept the consequences of that choice which leads us to change (which we have been avoiding).
- Do you do deep breathing exercises daily? Yes
Very important to oxygenate your cells daily - Discovered by Otto Warburg in 1966, cancer thrives in low oxygen and dies in high oxygen levels. This can be deep breathing because of exercise or just a deep breathing exercise alone.
- Have you had children? Yes
Having never had children increases your risk of some types of cancer.
- Have you had frequent abortions? No
Abortions increase the risk of certain cancers.
- Do you exercise regularly? Yes
There are many different benefits to exercising that explain why regular exercise is very important for lowering your cancer risk.
- Do you take aspirin? No
Longterm use of aspirin increases your cancer risk of several cancers including colon cancer.
Environmental Factors For Cancer Risk
New England Journal of Medicine reported “The overwhelming contributor to the causation of cancer in the populations of twins that we studied was the environment.”
Environmental factors include chemicals, pathogens and various electromagnetic field factors which are becoming extremely important for our cancer risk. This dramatic increase in cancer risk from EMF’s is due to the drastic increase in this technology in our environments, combined with increasing time limit exposures being met that is causing DNA damage and cell destruction.
- Have you tested your home for radon? Yes
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. It’s a toxic gas produced from the earth that can collect in homes. No one is exempt from the possibility of having high radon levels in their homes, though some areas have tested to have more than 50% of homes having radon
- Do you own a detector to test for wireless technology radiation? Yes
In today’s environment, we are bombarded with wireless technology that is everywhere! Sitting, working and sleeping by these strong fields for hours every day longterm causes a breakdown in the body’s healthy electrical circuitry and damages the DNA – which is the first step in a healthy cell turning into a cancer cell. Wireless/RF radiation also weakens the immune system, compounding problems. There are many studies showing the relation between wireless radiation and increased cancer risk. For me personally, I could get rid of my cancer but it was reactivated by exposure to wireless, electric and magnetic technology of various types. I could actually feel the previously healed cancer areas reactivate in the presence of wireless radiation - and this was almost instantly. All wireless devices should be hardwired AND the wireless capability MUST be turned off. *I found this to be an extremely important factor for my cancer risk!* I could not keep the cancer from coming back until I completely removed the wireless radiation from my environment. And you cannot know where wireless radiation is until you test with a meter. See more info about radiation meters and detectors here:
- Do you own a meter/detector to measure electric and magnetic radiation? Yes
There are a few areas in your environment that can have extremely high levels of electric or magnetic radiation. When you sit, work or sleep by these areas regularly, you are increasing your risk of certain cancers such as breast, bone, leukemia, non-hodgkins, brain and others. Some places to look for high radiation of this type is in the wall (very common, from improper wiring) by your bed, the counter and floor next to a dishwasher, wiring that may go under floors, venta-hoods and other appliances that are not wired properly, in the wall next to a sitting area or any work area (especially if it has lots of electrical technology). Most things can be properly wired or moved over a few feet to make a safe environment. One of the symptoms you may have before a leukemia diagnosis is long-term anemia (because electric/magnetic radiation destroys red blood cells). Don’t wait to test your environment. See info on best type of meter to purchase at link above.
- Do you live or work by a cell tower that radiates into your home or office? No
Cell towers may be right across the street and not radiate into your environment or they may be a few blocks away and not even visible and be causing high radiation in your environment. My personal research has show that it takes as much as 4-5 years of this type of exposure to cause a cancer diagnosis in one or several family members or coworkers. See the link above for information on wireless/RF detectors to see if your living/work areas are safe. You can also put your address in at www.antennasearch.com to help determine what your risk may be (though you don’t know until you test with a detecter because of wireless technology that comes thru walls). A mile or more away from a cell tower is usually safe, but closer than that may or may not be safe.
- Do you have a wireless communication ‘Smart Meter’ on or at your house which is just outside the bedroom or other area where you spend a significant amount of time? No
Smart Meters (which send wireless communications to your utility company) that are on or outside your bedroom wall or other areas where you spend a significant amount of time, have been tested to have a strong wireless signal every few seconds and comes thru the walls of your home or office. I have tested several homes of people who have developed headaches, lowered immune system and other health problems after the installation of a smart meter on their property. The wireless radiation signals were coming into their bedrooms and zapping them every few seconds all night long. Wireless radiation damages DNA leading to a higher risk of cancer and also causes cancer cells which are already present to grow more rapidly.
- Do you sleep on a mattress or bedding that has toxic chemicals or petroleum product ingredients? No
The place where you sleep (spending one third of your life) should be completely safe from toxins and other harmful factors. Petroleum products, which are in most synthetic material in pillows, mattresses, sheets, comforters, bedspreads, etc., are know carcinogens and known to ‘out-gas’ constantly. You are breathing this all night, every night. Switch to organic bedding and see more information about non-toxic mattresses here:
My savvy rest link here
- Does your environment contain fluorescent lighting? No
Flourescent light bulbs contain mercury and the long tube fluorescents produce a harmful electromagnetic field that causes headaches, foggy thinking and more. These factors weaken the immune system with longterm exposure and damage DNA leading to a higher cancer risk. Switch to full spectrum lighting.
- Is your home, office or any place you spend regular time near high-power lines? No
The bigger the power lines, the higher the cancer risk and the more distance is required for safety. Power lines do not produce instant damage but accumulates through the years. It’s the constant long-term exposure that brings on the leukemia, bone cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, etc. and contributes to faster growth of cancers you already have. One of the precursers of leukemia brought on by power lines may be anemia due to the damage done to the bone marrow that produces red and white blood cells. Of course, the young, elderly and sickly are affected first.
- Do you have equipment with a very high-producing magnetic field in your regular environment and extremely close to your body? No
These can include a hybrid car you drive a significant amount of time, an air conditioning unit you sit or sleep next to, an engine powered device you use often (with the engine close to your body), use a jack hammer regularly, high powered zero-turn lawn mower which is used frequently and for long periods of time, etc. These damage the DNA of the cells leading to reproduction of mutated cells and then cancer cells.
- Do you have any electrical devices plugged in within five feet of your bed or other places you spend regular time? No
And this includes the cords that go with the devices, which may be plugged in, between the bed and the wall. These may include electric blanket, waterbed heater, alarm clock/radio, lamps, etc. (Fans on the ceiling are usually O.K.) These electric/magnetic fields over a period of time damage the bone marrow and can lead to leukemia, bone cancer and also other cancers such as breast cancer. Your electric field when measured on a gauss meter should be ‘0’ or no higher than ‘1 or 2’ and with a magnetic field no higher than ‘20’ especially at your bed. Electric blankets and water bed heaters are also associated with increased risk of miscarriages.
- If you have gas-burning appliances in your home or work place, do you know for sure you have the minimum amount of carbon monoxide in that area? Yes
Very important to eliminate all carbon monoxide fumes, a by-product of gas-burning appliances and other fuel burning combustion, by making sure they are properly ventilated and burn only a blue flame – not orange, yellow or red flames. Breathing carbon monoxide on a regular basis lowers the oxygen level in your body, which is the perfect climate for cancer cell growth. Carbon monoxide detectors measure only higher levels of carbon monoxide keeping you safe from death by high dose poisoning. They do not detect the day in and day out ‘unhealthy’ levels you may have. High carbon monoxide levels in your body can be detected using bio-communication technology like Zyto Elite. Check for practitioners in your area.
- Have you had regular x-rays that are not digital? No
There is no safe level of ionizing radiation in the human body - from x-rays or any other source. This type of radiation is very hard to detox out of the body and its effects may not show up for years. Ionizing radiation causes DNA damage which is the first step in a cell becoming a cancer cell. The new digital x-rays are much lower in radiation, making them a safer choice. If you must have an x-ray, be sure it is from a new digital machine and make certain each x-ray is absolutely necessary.
- Do you have amalgam (mercury) fillings in your teeth? No
Mercury is extremely toxic to the body and can cause many health problems including increasing your risk of cancers. Mercury fillings also ‘pull’ harmful electro-magnetic fields into the head which increases brain cancer risk and makes it more difficult for the body to heal itself from brain cancer you may already have.
- Do you have high level exposures to formaldehyde in your environment? No
They are known carcinogens and can be found in disinfectants, photography, embalmers, medications, textiles, plywood and particle boards, carpeting, paper products, paints, glues and much more.

- Now or in the past, have you had regular exposures to pesticides and herbicides? No
Check for these in your environment. They are everywhere. Examples are washing your dog (without gloves) with a conventional flea shampoo, regular application to your yard, mesquito sprays, pest strips, weed killers, etc. There are safe natural alternatives that work great! People don’t realize these toxins stay in your body for years building up and increasing your risk of cancer. See www.BeyondPesticides.org for great information.
- Do you avoid exposures to petrochemicals? Yes
Petrochemicals are know to cause cancer. The products made with them are everywhere and used for various different things. The list is very long. Here are just a few: candles, carpets, fertilizers, gas and diesel, detergent, plastic wrap (which should never touch your food), shoes, dyes, plastic bottles, electronics, mineral oil in cosmetics, furniture polish and much more.
- Do you or have you in the past worked around dry cleaning chemicals? No
These chemicals are known to cause cancer.
- Have you experienced an incidence of drinking lye? No
Just one incidence, even as a child, increases your risk of esophageal cancer years later.
- Have you been exposed to silica dust? No
Breathing silica dust increases your risk of certain cancers. Silica may be found in Industries such as minors, brick layers, tile laying, concrete workers, etc.
- Are you aware of all chemicals in your immediate environment and know for sure they do not cause cancer? Yes
Chemicals are everywhere and MANY of them increase your risk of cancer. Benzene and arsenic are examples, but also simple everyday exposures like fabric softener dryer sheets and ‘plug-in’ air fresheners. Study all chemicals you may be exposed to and find out if they increase your risk of cancer or better yet, go natural. Most products can be replaced with plant based non-toxic products.
- Do you ingest fluoride on a regular basis? No
Flouride is highly toxic and causes many health problems including increasing your risk leukemia and bone cancer. Flouride is mainly found in toothpaste, dental treatments and municipal water supplies. Flouride is not proven to improve dental health and is very harmful to our health.
